Svapnagata Festival supports the MHMT

Svapnagata Festival supports the MHMT
28th November 2009
Meaning 'dreaming' in Sanskrit, Svapnagata is a unique two-week festival of Indian music and dance curated by two multi award-winning artists – dancer and choreographer Akram Khan and composer Nitin Sawhney.

The festival supported the MHMT in two ways:
The MHMT had a full page in the festival's programme
The MHMT had volunteers doing bucket donation collections in the foyer after most of the shows

Mavis, John and Esther were privileged to attend Khan and Sawhney's collaboration, "Confluence" on 26th November. It was an enthralling and moving review of their years of working together.

With a deep personal interest in all things Indian and a love of Nitin Sawhney's music, Mim herself would have loved this festival. We are very grateful for Akhram Khan and Nitin Sawhney's interest in the MHMT and for this opportunity to raise our profile, as well as funds.

We also owe a huge debt of thanks to Caroline Allouf for her tireless efforts in organising the collection volunteers, and to each and every volunteer who contributed to making the festival a success for the MHMT!
