15th Anniversary of 7/7
This year marks the 15th anniversary of 7th July 2005 London bombings. The usual memorial ceremony cannot be held at the Hyde Park memorial because of regulations surrounding COVID-19.
There have been many discussions as to how to mark the anniversary this year, taking into account the ever-changing lockdown/COVID-19 guidance, yet also holding true to the past 15 years of memorial services that have been held.
A group of survivors and bereaved have been working on creating a distance programme, including a pre-recorded video, which includes some of the elements that would have taken place in the Park, such as short speeches from those affected by 7/7, reading of the names, laying of flowers at the memorial.
Mavis has taken the opportunity to participate with an update on the work of the Miriam Hyman Memorial Trust's two projects, the Miriam Hyman Children's Eye Care Centre, and Miriam's Vision.

It continues to give us great satisfaction to work in Miriam's memory towards a non-violent society, and to help children with eye care needs in Odisha, India. Please see the Miriam Hyman Memorial Trust website for more information. Thank you.
Thanks also to those who organised the commemorations this year.
