The Young Artists Group at the Tricycle had an exhibition of their work at the Gallery for three weeks over the end of April and early May. The first Miriam Hyman Art Prize, a gift of £50 to be spent on art materials, was awarded to Antoinette Noel for her exhibit and for showing particular promise and commitment.
The prize is to be awarded annually and reflects Miriam's passion for arts and craft and the importance she attached to stimulating young people to use their creative abilities.
The quality of the work shown was very high and the exhibits were beautifully executed. Kevina Khan, the Tricycle's artist in residence and Kitty Stiring who curated the exhibition, have to be congratulated on producing a fine show.
